It was third time lucky for the organisers of the Women's Internationaux de Creteil when home town star Camille Serme upset second seed Joshna Chinappa in straight games to provide local interest in the final of the $12,000 WISPA World Tour squash event in its third year at Centre Marie Therese Eyquem in Creteil, in the outskirts of the French capital Paris, for the first time.
Serme, the nineteen-year-old from Creteil who won the French national crown for the first time last week, followed her victory over fellow countrywoman Celia Allamargot in the quarter-finals by beating Chinappa, the world No35 from Chennai, 11-5, 11-7, 11-3.
The French teenager will face top-seeded Italian Manuela Manetta, the 2007 champion. Manetta was taken the full distance by Indian star Dipika Pallikal before beating the 17-year-old fifth seed 11-6, 11-7, 9-11, 8-11, 13-11.
