Colombian Miguel Angel Rodriguez battled for 95 minutes to pull off an impressive upset over third seed Cameron Pilley in the Santiago Open in Spain to reach the semi-finals of the 3-star PSA Tour men's squash event at Shopping Center Area Central in Santiago de Compostela.

The fast-rising 22-year-old from Bogotá survived two fight backs by Pilley, the world No20 from New South Wales, before winning 11-7, 10-12, 12-10, 8-11, 11-9.

The fifth seed now takes on another Australian Stewart Boswell, the experienced second seed who took 67 minutes to hold off the challenge of promising English opponent Daryl Selby, the seventh seed, before winning 13-11, 11-4, 11-8.

Hometown hero Borja Golan will be hoping to provide Santiago interest in the final with a win over Laurens Jan Anjema in the other semi.  Only two world ranking positions separate the pair - but it is Dutchman Anjema who is the higher placed.
