Egypt's Karim Abdel Gawad celebrated the first Tour title of his career when he beat England's Lewis Walters in the final of the Goshen Open, the inaugural PSA Tour squash event at Goshen Squash Racquets Club in Goshen in the US state of Indiana.
It was a remarkable performance by the unseeded teenager who was making his debut on the Tour. The 17-year-old from Cairo stormed through the event, upsetting seeds in each round.
After overcoming third-seeded Englishman Philip Nightingale in his toughest battle in the quarter-finals, Gawad beat sixth seed Lekgotla Mosope in the semis before facing No2 seed Walters in the final.
Both players were making their Tour final debuts - and Walters, 20, from Nottingham, took the opening game.
But Gawad, the reigning British Junior U17 Open champion, struck back to win 11-13, 11-3, 14-12, 11-2 to join a select group of players who have won titles in their maiden outings on the Tour.
