Chris Ryder and Sarah Kippax clinched an English double in the Bymac Leinster Squash Open in Ireland after contrasting finals in the Tour event at the Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin.

In the final of the men's $12,000 PSA Tour event, top seed Ryder overcame Mexico's Jorge Isaac Baltazar Ferreira 11-3, 9-11, 11-5, 9-11, 15-13 in the match of the tournament.  A packed crowd was treated to a fantastic encounter which lasted all of 87 minutes.

Right from the outset, nothing could separate the players with the quality of play matching the high pace throughout.  Ryder, the 28-year-old world No33 from Wolverhampton, let a 9-3 lead slip in the decider as the gritty Baltazar Ferreira, the second seed, took it right down to the wire with Ryder eventually winning the deciding game 15-13 and with it the Bymac Leinster Open title.

The success marks the fourth PSA Tour title of Ryder's career - but his first this year.

The climax of the women's $8,000 WISPA World Tour event was a one-sided affair in which Sarah Kippax, the world number 32, beat France's Camille Serme 11-5, 11-6, 11-4 in just 24 minutes.

Second seed Kippax, who had knocked out Ireland's Aisling Blake in the semi-final, dominated the final from start to finish against the sixth seed.

Serme had put in some fine performances to reach the final, most notably knocking out number one seed Latasha Khan in the quarter-finals - but the final proved one match too far as she looked off the pace.

The triumph marks the fifth WISPA World Tour title triumph this year for Sarah Kippax!  The win is the perfect final preparation for the Chester-born 25-year-old on the eve of next week's Hi-Tec World Championship in Manchester - the first ever joint staging of the Men's and Women's World Opens in the UK, for which Kippax was recently appointed 'Official Ambassador'.
