Durbach Delivers In Dayton

South African qualifier Rodney Durbach claimed his second seeded scalp in 24 hours when he removed Scotland's No2 seed Martin Heath in the quarter-finals of the $40,000 EBS Asset Management Dayton Squash Open in Ohio, USA.

After beating fourth seed Mark Chaloner - his English National League team Broxbourne team-mate - Dayton favourite Durbach defeated Heath, the world No24, 15-12 15-9 15-4.

The world No31 from Potchefstroom now takes on Egypt's unseeded Mohammed Abbas, who prevailed against qualifier and fellow countryman Wael El Hindi 15-8 15-8 15-7.

The other semi-final will feature top-seeded Egyptian Karim Darwish and Canada's No3 seed Graham Ryding.  Darwish sustained a slight cut on the knee in the 2nd game, going for a low ball against compatriot Omar Elborolossy, and there was an injury time-out.

After bandaging and borrowing a knee brace from Tournament Promoter Charlie Johnson to keep the bandage in place, Darwish motored on to win the match 15-9 15-11 15-10.

Ryding reached the last four after beating England's 5th seed Simon Parke 15-7 15-13 15-8.
