Stoehr, who earlier this month won the French national title for a record 11th time, despatched qualifier Allamargot 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 and will now face sixth-seeded Malaysian Tricia Chuah for a place in the semi-finals.

But England's Dominique Lloyd-Walter prevailed in the longest encounter, the fourth seed taking 73 minutes to overcome unseeded French opponent Camille Serme 5-9, 9-2, 9-1, 9-10, 10-8.
