Canadian number one and tournament top seed Shahier Razik won the Talisman Energy Bankers Hall Open title after ending the giant-killing run of Pakistan qualifier Majid Khan in the final of the $15,000 PSA Tour squash event at Bankers Hall Club in Calgary.
It took Tour veteran Razik 76 minutes to overcome the 24-year-old from Peshawar 11-9, 9-11, 11-8, 11-10 (2-0) to pocket the $2,600 first place prize.
"It was a tougher match than I would have expected from him," said Razik, who lost last week's final at the Comfort Inn Open in Vancouver. "He got better and better as the match wore on. He has a very clashing style and a choppy rhythm to his play."
After losing the second game, Razik felt he needed to make some adjustments.
"I had to slow the pace down," said the 30-year-old world No21 from Toronto. "But in the end the entire match just went back and forth. At the end he made some crucial mistakes and I was able to capitalise on them."
The victory gives Razik the 18th PSA Tour title of his career, in his 27th final.
