England Squash has just concluded a three year title sponsorship agreement with Tecnifibre for the British Junior Open Squash Championships.

The event, the most prestigious and longest-established junior event on the world calendar attracting in excess of 450 of the very best players from all corners of the world will now be known as the Tecnifibre British Junior Open. The 2008 event, being staged as usual in the renowned Abbeydale and Hallamshire clubs in Sheffield, takes place between 2 – 6 January.

England Squash Chief Executive Nick Rider said: “I’m delighted we’re teaming up with Tecnifibre. The brand’s reputation for excellence and quality will add real prestige to this great Championships.”

Guillaume Ducruet, from Tecnifibre International, commented: “At senior professional level, we already sponsor the US Open and the World Open, but it is just as important for us to be involved in junior squash. We are the brand of the future, so we must be associated with the players of the future.”

Mark Ibbotson, from Smash Sports, the UK and Ireland trade distributor of Tecnifibre, added: “Following on from Tecnifibre’s sponsorship of the British Junior National Championships and a number of European junior tournaments, this is the next logical step for our young, vibrant brand, in its support of junior squash.”

Tecnifibre’s product development team has produced an impressive range – including rackets, bags, grips, overgrips, sportswear and accessories - for players of all ages, which have been extensively tested and proved by a growing number of international and national stars.
