Bernardo Bags Extra Local Spot In Colombian Open

Colombian Bernardo Samper, the only player to earn a straight games victory in the qualifying finals of the Colombian Open Squash Championship, has doubled the local interest in the $20,000 PSA Tour event in the country's capital city Bogotá.

Samper scampered to an 11-5 11-5 11-5 win over Mexican Jose Angel Becerril in just 22 minutes to set up a first round clash with Jan Koukal, the eighth seed from the Czech Republic .  Samper, who reached the final of June's La Hacienda Open in as a qualifier, rejoined the PSA world ranking list this month at 173 - after a gap of more than three years.
