Englishmen Put Bianchetti Under Pressure In Brescia

Top-seeded Italian Davide Bianchetti is through to the semi-finals of the Mega Italia Squash Open - but has three Englishmen chasing him for the PSA Tour title in his hometown of Brescia.

The former champion beat Pakistan's Khalid Atlas Khan 11-3 11-6 11-5 in the quarter-finals and will now face England's reigning champion Scott Handley, the third seed who defeated eighth seed Christopher Gordon, of the USA, 11-6 11-8 11-8.

The other semi-final will be an all-English affair between second seed Stacey Ross and unseeded Daryl Selby.  In a topsy-turvy encounter in which he won two consecutive games in a single hand, Selby overcame Zimbabwean qualifier Jesse Engelbrecht 7-11 11-0 11-0 5-11 11-10.

Ross halved the local interest in the event by beating Italy's Luca Mastrostefano 11-5 11-8 9-11 11-3.
