Thompson Denies Further Swiss Interest In Losone Open

Namibia's Ryan Thompson denied further local interest in the first round of the Losone Open Squash Championship in Losone when he beat junior Nicolas Muller in straight games in the qualifying finals of the inaugural PSA Tour event in the Swiss town.

But 15-year-old Muller put up a brave fight, taking the 20-year-old Namibian to a lengthy tie-break before Thompson secured his 11-7 11-5 11-10 (5-3) victory in 33 minutes to ensure a place in the main draw against India's seventh seed Ritwik Bhattacharya.

Sixth seed Lars Harms leads Swiss interest in the event.  The Basel-born 27-year-old takes on Egypt's 17-year-old world junior champion Ramy Ashour.
