New Directors Voted Onto WISPA Board

The board of the Women's International Squash Players' Association will take on a new look following elections which took place at the WISPA AGM which was held in Dallas in conjunction with the Texas Open.

Natalie Grainger (USA), the current President, was re-elected, as was Chairman Linda Elriani (England).  Also voted back in were Natalie Grinham (Australia), Susan Morrison (USA) and Jenny Tranfield (England).

Newly-elected, however, were Canadian Katie Patrick and UK-based Ingrid Lofdahl-Bentzer, who had recently been co-opted onto the Board.

The new pair edged out previous board members Shabana Khan (USA) and Pamela Nimmo (Scotland).  Also failing to get a place amongst the seven available slots were Melissa Martin (Australia) and Engy Kheirallah (Egypt).

The meeting was an upbeat occasion and featured reports on a successful 2004 in which the WISPA Tour had grown by 44%; the logo was redesigned; a new website enacted; and revised marketing materials produced.  Furthermore, members were reminded that the sixth annual WISPA Promotional Tour had taken place - to China and Nepal - and TV programming had grown in conjunction with Qatar Airways sponsorship.
