WORLD SQUASH NEWS Nicol David Heads WISPA Under 23 Rankings Malaysia's world number four Nicol David maintains her lead at the top of the March WISPA Under 23 women's world rankings, ahead of Egypt's world junior champion Omneya Abdel Kawy at two, and England's Jenny Duncalf in third position. Of particular note, however, is the growth of the category: There are no fewer than 70 players from 23 countries featured in the latest version of the list which is published every four months. "Encouraged by the growth of the WISPA Tour and those coming through from our now well-established Rising Stars programme, more young players are competing internationally," said WISPA Executive Director Andrew Shelley. "In addition to those from high-flying countries such as England, Egypt and Australia and the other established nations, there are now players from diverse countries such as Colombia, Guyana, Korea and Nigeria, amongst others," he added. The Women's International Squash Players' Association also produces a WISPA Rising Stars list every four months. This Under 19 group is currently headed by Egyptian Raneem El Weleily, followed by Charlie de Rycke from Belgium.
